We keep this short on purpose. There are two kinds of cookies on YumReads, and only one of them is optional.

Necessary cookies

These are required for the site to work and are always on. They are not used for advertising, and they are not switched off by declining marketing cookies.

What they do — required site functionality: remembering which books you bought, protecting checkout from abuse, and running payment verification.
Who runs them — us, and Stripe for the checkout itself. Stripe sets its own cookies under its own policy.

Marketing — Meta Pixel

With your permission we use Meta Pixel to measure advertising and report purchases back to the campaigns that brought you here.

Purpose — advertising measurement and conversion tracking.
Provider — Meta Platforms, Inc., as a recipient of the data described below.
When it runs — only after you choose Accept in the cookie card. Until you choose, and if you choose Reject, the Meta script is never loaded and no request is sent to Meta.
What it can process — browser and device information, IP-derived information, pages you view and how you interact with them, cookie or online identifiers, and conversion events such as a completed purchase.
Cookies and identifiers it sets — _fbp, which identifies your browser for Meta advertising, and _fbc, which connects your visit to an ad click when you arrive from one.
Legal basis — your consent, where consent is the applicable basis under applicable law.

Changing your choice

You can change your mind at any time. If you switch from Accept to Reject, we stop sending further Meta events and clear the Meta cookies we set on this domain where the browser allows it.

That reopens the same small card, and your choice is remembered on this device.
